SHOONYA means ZERO or nothingness. The project SHOONYA by MTD NGO resembles the aim to have ZERO waste in India. A great idea is no doubt very very difficult to execute but is executed on a successful level by team MTD NGO.
CEO and a dynamic young man Mr. Deepak Vishwakarma of Making The Difference NGO aims to build a nation that is a clean, hygienic, and waste-free country. Sticking to their aim MTD NGO has launched project SHOONYA which is completely based on waste management and works on taking care of Mother Nature by segregation dry waste and wet waste from hills of garbage.
On estimated research, it is found that on yearly basis India generates about 62 million tonnes of waste. Ever thought where does all this waste go??
Well, only a certain part of this waste is been segregated by the states whereas due to poor waste management rest all the waste is settled into big hills of waste. This waste then turns to decomposition on its own and produces insects and foul smells, which spreads disease and infections in the air. The same air, insects, and microorganisms then spread in large areas giving birth to unwanted diseases and unhygienic environment.
MTD NGO runs Project SHOONYA with the base of recycling, reusing, and re-generate. The team works hard day and night to collect waste from different part of the cities and then segregate it into dry waste and wet waste containers. This all waste is then sent to the waste plant for further processing. But doing so requires really big manpower. Mr. Deepak Vishwakarma and his team are enthusiastic about their aim to provide the country with the safe, clean, and hygienic surroundings
